What It Does
Ten Frames School Edition is the classroom version of Ten Frames — the same method, packaged for the way a school actually uses iPads.
There is nothing to set up and nothing to buy inside the app. A child opens it and starts working: 9 Adventure worlds and 82 levels are unlocked from the first tap, and one level is 5 problems that runs 2–4 minutes, so it fits a station rotation or the last stretch of a lesson.
The Ten Frames method itself is included in mathematics curricula around the world — Common Core State Standards (USA), Singapore Math, the UK Early Years Foundation Stage and the Australian National Curriculum — and appears in the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Illuminations classroom resources. Children learn to recognise quantities visually: a filled row is always 5, a full frame is always 10.
