Below are the answers to the questions we are asked most often — the widget, purchases, and languages.
Adding the widget
The countdown can sit on your home screen and on your lock screen. The same steps are in the app, under Settings → How to add the widget.
On the home screen
- Press and hold an empty part of the home screen until the icons start to wobble.
- Tap the + button in the top-left corner.
- Find Holiday Countdown & Days Off in the list, or search for it by name.
- Pick a size, tap Add Widget, then tap Done.
On the lock screen
This one is easy to miss — the lock screen has its own separate widget area.
- Press and hold your lock screen, then tap Customise and choose Lock Screen.
- Tap the empty strip just below the clock.
- Choose Holiday Countdown & Days Off, then tap the widget you want.
- Tap Done — the countdown stays there from now on.
Restoring your purchase
On a new phone, open Settings → background photo in the app and tap Restore purchases. The button on the purchase screen does the same thing. Sign in with the same Apple Account you bought with and there is nothing to pay again.
What is free and what is paid
The countdown, the widget, your lists and your reminders are free. A single purchase unlocks:
- Photo backgrounds
- All the themes
- The shareable cards
- More than one event at a time
There is no subscription. It is one payment, once.
Changing the language
The app speaks six languages: English, Romanian, Bulgarian, Czech, Hungarian and Polish. Change it in Settings → App language — you do not have to change your phone’s language to do it.
